Cultivating Sceletium tortuosum plants from seeds. Tips for growing / Kanna cultivation.
Cultivating Sceletium is very easy. With our harvests, we collected some seed pods after flowering season. The bigger the pods, the more and healthier the seeds. Please keep in mind that the pods must dry out on the plant and not harvested while they are green. This will ensure that you have healthy seeds to germinate.
The amount of Sceletium seeds vary from pod to pod. Some pods are very generous with the quantity of seeds it holds, but some not so much.
The seeds are very small and thin, so handle with care. Buy your seeds here.

Kanna Smoker’s cut
The kanna smoker’s cut are basically the same as our kanna teacut, except, we only use the soft leaves and parts of the plant. This ensures that the kanna have a smooth texture.
As with the kanna powder and kanna teacut, we pride ourself in cleaning our kanna material properly. Our kanna are wild-harvested and inevitably, grass and weeds are sometimes cut with the plants.
Before fermentation, if needed, we clean out any alien material out of the harvested kanna before drying. We dry our kanna naturally – in the wind, under shade in the sun. Once the kanna is dry, we rough mill the material for the finest smoker’s cut.
Kanna teacut / Sceletium teacut. We pride ourself in cleaning our kanna properly. Our kanna are wild-harvested and inevitably, grass and weeds are sometimes cut with the plants.
Before fermentation, if needed, we clean out any alien material out of the harvested kanna before drying. We dry our kanna naturally – in the wind, under shade in the sun.
Once the kanna is dry, we rough mill the material for the finest teacut. If needed, we also sieve the teacut for a specific particle size.
The difference between Kanna Smoker’s Cut and Kanna Teacut is that the smoker’s cut are only the leaves and soft parts of the plant which had been removed. The teacut are the whole plant roughly milled without any parts taken out.
Our kanna powder undergoes various tests to insure that we have a high quality product.
We dry our kanna naturally – in the wind, under shade in the African sun.
Once the material is dry, we mill the material in two stages: 1. rough mill for teacut and then we 2. mill it through a fine mesh.
If needed, we also sieve the powder. We pack and seal the Sceletium powder in food-grade plastic bags, stored in corrugated containers in a dark, cool storage facility.
