Kanna plants are easily growable once you follow the right steps. We mostly germinate our Sceletium from seeds, but you can also grow Kanna plants from cuttings. Sceletium tortuousm, or also kanna, as it is also known, is a succulent herb, which are commonly found in South Africa, in the karoo area. Other names for Sceletium tortuosum is also Channa and Kougoed (Afrikaans). This literally means: to chew or chew(able) things.

We grow our kanna in pots which makes it easy to move around. The natural habitat of the Sceletium tortuosum plant is in the hot Karoo areas in Southern-Africa, thus if you grow Sceletium at home, try to make the growing environment as hot as possible. You should monitor the plant’s leaves to check whether it is thriving, which will give you an indication whether the temperature is suitable. Very important als is not to over-irrigate.
